It has a diuretic effect (urine-producing) and, due to its high content of antibiotic substances, is used to treat urinary tract and rheumatic diseases. Honey contains high enzymatic activity. It helps fight colds in bad weather and fever, has anti-inflammatory properties, and is also effective in treating acute and chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, bronchial asthma, inflammation of the throat, sinuses, and bronchi, as well as tonsillitis. It promotes coughing and sweating.
